Bio
Brent Hirose is an actor, writer, director, singer and voice over artist based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Brent is an active member of the Winnipeg arts scene: A founding member of Theatre by the River, a board member of the Manitoba Association of Playwrights, a company member of Funny Box Theatre, one third of th improv troupe The Horrible Friends and a performer in various projects with companies all over the city.As an actor career highlights include Habitat, Billy Bishop Goes To War (Theatre by the River), Neighbours, Bloodless (White Rabbit Produtions), Tom Stoppard's Arcadia (Theatre Incarnate), Miss Saigon (Rainbow Stage) and Disconnections (Restorative Theatre Productions). Directing credits include Joseph Aragon’s Book of Changes and Shawn Kowalke’s Paper Jack.Brent has written several plays, most notably the one man shows “Jesus Christ, I’m Sorry”, “Life in a Box” and “When the Killer Mutant Lizards Attack”. "The History of Theatre" (with Mel Marginet and Matthew Tenbruggencate) was nominated for the 2007 Harry Rintoul award. Brent is a three time winner of the Carol Shields Festival of New Works Instaplay competition and has been a member of the Young Emerging Playwrights Program (mentored by Rick Chafe) and Manitoba Theatre For Young People's Workshop Series on Writing For Young People (led by Herbie Barnes).As a voice over artist Brent has led his voice to several projects, most notably the cartoon series Noonbory and the Super Seven (now seen Saturday mornings on CBS) and Kung Fu Dino Posse (currently in production). He is also a regular panel guest with Richard Cloutier on CJOB 680 AM.
