Brent Hirose: Coffee Group Shot

4M 1W

(With Sebastien Ball) Two pairs of buddies come to the local coffee house to drink java, shoot the shit and work out their problems. Little do they know that the hour that follows will be filled to brim with hilarity, hijinks and even a little bit of romance. Oh, and pie. Lots and lots of pie. Comedy.

My first produced play, this show has a lot of good memories attached to it. It's certainly an early effort in a lot of ways, featuring little more than segways into the next expository conversation or ridiculous joke, but the show will always have a place in my heart.

Brent Hirose: Jesus Christ, I'm Sorry Title

1M

A young man is faced with a crisis of faith surrounding his high school graduation and a huge Christian youth retreat. How can he reconcile his feelings when they run counter to the teachings he has grown up with? Drama.

Written in 2005, performed at the 2006 Winnipeg Fringe Festival and the 2007 FRIGID New York festival, JC,IS is my first one man show and a labor of love. While flawed in several ways, I'm pleased with the building block in both my writing and performing career that the play presents.
